The story of Mitch’s Fish Market

Mitch’s Sushi is owned by Craig Mitchell, who traveled from half-way around the world to make Hawaii his home.  In 1983, he started traveling around the world from his hometown in South Africa.  After seeing beautiful Hawaii, he decided it would be his last stop. 

In 1996, Craig became owner of The Seafood Company where he had been working. Now married to his wife Linda, and a father of son Kelley and daughter Alex, he decided to relocate his parents from South Africa. 

Mitch and Yvonne arrived in Hawaii in April of 1998. Mitch opened a poke shop, surprisingly called “Mitch’s Fish Market”.  Sadly, Yvonne passed away in August 2003, and the poke shop became history. Mitch, a person too full of life to retire, needed another career.  Craig had always harbored the desire to have a sushi restaurant.  In July of 2004, Mitch’s Sushi Bar was born. With Craig’s supply of fresh fish and the remarkable skill of master chefs Shingo Luu, Masakazu Murakami and Il Han,  your meal will be truly memorable.
